SHERGAR CUP 09 AUGUST
Individual victory - Team podium
Team Europe finished second in the Shergar Cup, won by Team Asia, but Delphine Santiago recorded a fine victory for her team in the Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup Classic (run over 2,400 metres) riding Tenability, trained by William Haggas.
This victory earned her 15 points, which, added to those obtained a little later by her Swedish captain Per-Andres Graberg in the last of the six races, enabled them to finish second in the competition. The Asia team, composed of India's Surah Narredu and two Japanese jockeys, Mirai Iwata and Ryusei Sakai, won the 2025 Shergar Cup. Delphine Santiago was nevertheless delighted with the experience, stating: ‘It's great to come to Ascot, a racecourse with a great reputation, and ride with the best jockeys from around the world. The track is very different from France, and I'm absolutely delighted to have won a race for William Haggas. There's a great atmosphere and it was a really wonderful experience.’
