Shergar CUP
09 August

Individual victory - Team podium
Team Europe finished second in the Shergar Cup, won by Team Asia, but Delphine Santiago recorded a fine victory for her team in the Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup Classic (run over 2,400 metres) riding Tenability, trained by William Haggas.
This victory earned her 15 points, which, added to those obtained a little later by her Swedish captain Per-Andres Graberg in the last of the six races, enabled them to finish second in the competition. The Asia team, composed of India's Surah Narredu and two Japanese jockeys, Mirai Iwata and Ryusei Sakai, won the 2025 Shergar Cup. Delphine Santiago was nevertheless delighted with the experience, stating: ‘It's great to come to Ascot, a racecourse with a great reputation, and ride with the best jockeys from around the world. The track is very different from France, and I'm absolutely delighted to have won a race for William Haggas. There's a great atmosphere and it was a really wonderful experience.’

Delphine Santiago invited to Japan
The new record holder for wins in France, Delphine Santiago, has been invited to participate in the Japanese Jockeys Championship, which will take place this year on the weekend of 24-25 August.
Following Mickaëlle Michel, Coralie Pacaut and Marie Vélon, the JRA (Japan Racing Association) has invited Delphine Santiago to compete in its jockeys' championship. The new record holder for wins in France will fly to Japan on the weekend of 24-25 August. Organised since 1987, this international competition, which consists of four races, will pit fourteen jockeys against each other, including New Zealander Lisa Allpress, Brazilian Joao Moreira and Australian Damien Lane. Christophe Lemaire will of course be present in the Japanese team. Japanese racing legend Yutaka Take will take part in this challenge for the 28th time.

Delphine Santiago invited to the Jockeys Challenge in Riyadh
Delphine Santiago will fly to Saudi Arabia at the end of February to take part in the International Jockeys Challenge.
Alongside the Saudi Cup, the International Jockeys Challenge will take place on 24 February. Among the stars from around the world, including Lanfranco Dettori and Joao Moreira, will be Delphine Santiago (photo). After a very successful 2022, with 59 wins to her name, she is approaching this challenge with enthusiasm: "This invitation is a reward for my good results last year. After my serious leg injury, I had to start from scratch. I worked hard to get back to my best. Finishing just outside the top 15 without an agent is very difficult. My success rate is very good, especially since I rode in almost 500 fewer races than the jockeys in the Top 10. Most of my victories were achieved with handicap horses, which is never easy. It is a privilege and an honour to be able to take part in this competition, which brings together some of the best jockeys in the world." As a reminder, this challenge will bring together seven men, including two local jockeys, and seven women, who will compete in four events.
